20-hour Online Teacher Development Course

Course Description:

This course concentrates on building language awareness and teaching skills through a detailed study of techniques and stages of teaching English to enable participants to explore theories, pedagogical considerations and current methodology in language teaching.

It includes lesson sequencing for reading and listening lessons with examples together with methods for increasing interaction between students through the effective use of individual (thinking time), pair and group activities. The participants will also cover how to evaluate and adapt course book materials to extract maximum benefit.

• All our online courses consist of on-demand input videos and downloadable resources, interactive exercises, tasks for the classroom and face-to-face interviews and feedback sessions.

Aims:

The course intends to give insights into:

• getting to know students, creating classroom contracts and basic classroom management
• asking questions, eliciting students? knowledge, giving clear instructions and explaining lesson content without translation
• lesson sequencing for reading and listening lessons with examples
• lesson sequencing for speaking lessons as well as example activities and their stages
